Illness can become an overwhelming burden for a family already struggling financially. For a widow, an elderly person, or someone without a stable source of income, even a doctor’s consultation, diagnostic test, or necessary medicine may become unaffordable.
Islam places great importance on caring for people facing hardship and particularly on supporting widows and the poor.
Allah says:
“Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and be good to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor and the near and distant neighbour…”
— Qur’an 4:36
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid who fights for Allah’s cause, or like one who prays all night and fasts all day.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari, 5353; Sahih Muslim, 2982
Through our Medical Support for Widows and People in Need initiative, Barakah Welfare Foundation seeks to assist individuals who cannot afford essential healthcare expenses. Depending on individual needs and available resources, assistance may contribute toward medical consultations, necessary diagnostic tests, prescribed medicines, and other essential treatment-related expenses.
We aim to direct assistance toward genuine cases after reviewing their circumstances as carefully as reasonably possible.
A contribution to this initiative can help ease not only the financial burden of illness but also the anxiety experienced by vulnerable individuals and their families during difficult moments.
Your support can help someone receive a consultation, complete an important medical test, obtain prescribed medicine, or continue necessary treatment when financial hardship would otherwise stand in the way.
